Heh. I guess we are not at that level yet, then?

Maybe after ASEAN we should slowly try Asian region first and see how far we could go. Plus I think the youngsters need more exposure to outside football. As Kim Swee said, we need so send the whole team, rather than just a few, to gain experience outside.

It'll take time, but I can see some light.

That's the problem that's been plaguing Malaysian football for as far back as I can remember, though - we embarrass ourselves, then start making progress, then pick up a signature win or two somewhere, and then inevitably regress. Rinse and repeat - story of the FAM and the national team.

There is definite improvement. I'm seeing it firsthand.

But last night's result against Bahrain was terribly disappointing. Leading 2-0 with 10 minutes to go, we somehow threw it all away against the 10 men of Bahrain. Stunned. We played very well throughout the game up until the 80th minute, and all the best chances and openings were created by us. We should've won that game but to be fair, our keeper couldn't do much about their first two goals. The third goal was a mistake but also all the momentum was with Bahrain by then.

The definite bright spot is the emergence of Nazmi Faiz; the kid is only 17 and is very comfortable and composed on the ball. Hopefully he'll go from strength to strength.

He's in charge of the U23 / Harimau Muda team, which is currently playing in the Singapore League.

for those overseas who would like to watch the Malaysian League (its Malaysia Cup Quarter finals right now) or whenever the national team plays, this is a good streaming site to go...

2 years after our stunning triumph, we embark on another Suzuki Cup adventure. Our build-up to the tournament has been rubbish to say the least, but hopefully we can turn it all around when it really matters.

Heading to the stadium tonight for the game against Singapore; hopefully I'll be coming home a happy man.
