Agreed. Two TEAMS won today and yesterday, while two lots of individuals lost.

Congrats to Zambia. Didn't get to watch much of the tourney at all, but from what I gather, they are deserved champions. After the disaster in 1993, this has been a celebration a long time coming.
Is there anyone on the current squad with links to that ill-fated squad? Like a brother or son or other relative?

Oh there's some ex player who is now part of the coaching team with Zambia (everyone ran over to him to celebrate after they had won the final), that was supposed to be their best player in the 90's and on the day the plane crashed he decided to make his own arrangements and travel by himself to the match. Another player that luckily avoided the accident was Peter Ndlovu.

just watching the final now...man that penalty against zambia was harsh...that would've been a backbreaker they didn't deserve.
edit: man, despite knowing in advance that zambia won on penalties, that PK shootout was INTENSE! what drama...
