McGeady claims PFA double
Irish ace romps to success
Celtic star Aiden McGeady has become only the second player in history to win both the Scottish Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.
The Scottish Professional Footballers' Association awards took place in Glasgow on Sunday evening and McGeady took both honours.
Rangers' Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar had been tipped to win the award but McGeady beat him and his Celtic team-mates Scott McDonald and Barry Robson to the Player of the Year crown.
He beat Hibernian's Steven Fletcher, Falkirk's Scott Arfield, Kevin McDonald of Dundee and Motherwell's Ross McCormack to the Young Player prize.
McGeady has not won either award before he claimed the double success, following in the footsteps of Shaun Maloney who claimed the same double honour just two years ago.
A Celtic player has now taken the main award five years in succession.
In a year when Rangers could achieve an unprecedented quadruple, their manager Walter Smith also missed out like his players when Hamilton's Billy Reid took the Manger of the Year honour after he guided the Academicals to the SPL for the very first time.

Fair do's. Mind you, he also wins the 'Fishwife Lookalike' award for the 5th season in a row.
Aiden MgGeady
Cornish Fishwife
Investigators found forensic similarities over 62 physiognimic points, although the Cornish Fishwife was found to be somewhat lacking in a-typical fishwifferyness, unlike the McGeady subject.

Congrats Aideninho, completely deserved wee man - by far the best player in Scotland these days.
The fact that these awards will get right under the noses of the bigots is an added bonus.

Will the traitor's award make up for not winning any trophies this season?
