Default Rui Costa Promises 3 More Signings

Rui Costa has promised 3 more signings for Benfica. Quite possibly being the 3 names that have been linked today.. F - Luis Garcia, LM - Mark Gonzalez & GK - Codina

I heard that Smolarek (Racing in Spain) is #4 choice to join Benfica as a forward .

Yeah Smolarek is on the list.
Personally I think they should really go for Saviola of Madrid. Word is Madrid will part with Saviola for 6M. At that price that's a great deal for what you're getting compared to the 9-10M for Garcia or 5-7 for Smolarek. Saviola is still young and is still poised to break out if he can find some playing time. Smolarek is not really a threat. Really never has been. I like Garcia but the price is iffy.. At that price I think I'd rather go for Saviola if a deal can be made at 6M.

You really think Benfica doesn't have money? The only reason this is happening is the fact that there's a new Director in town. LFV was & is a bum when it comes to transfers.. we all should know that by now. It's about time they dumped the millions they make into the team.
Just so people get an idea of how much money Benfica has had & has.. Just 4 years ago they were ranked 20th in all of Soccer in revenue. They were the first Portuguese team to break into the top 20 ever. And just last year as matter of fact Benfica was labeled the 17th most valuable soccer brand in all of Europe. Look it up. They have money, don't be fooled into thinking Benfica is struggling. Not in the least bit.
