Ganso out for at least six months with a torn ACL. I think he messed it up when he won a PK (that Neymar finished very well). Sucks.

I apologize for not being active in this thread. The reason is, there is not much joy for what is going on with Flamengo. The team sucks. They made two big signings last week (Diogo and Deivid) and Rogerio was finally fired as the coach. Silas was hired this morning as the new Manager, he starts tomorrow.
The game today, sums up everything that is wrong with Flamengo right now. Diogo starts, plays about 15 minutes and gets injured. Flamengo up 1-0 at the half (having the worse goal scoring average in the league), they lead 1-0 until the 91st minute. Final score 1-2, unbelievable, two goals in stoppage time. Terrible .
Silas, Diogo, and Deivid (when he finally plays), please get Flamengo back on track. This is embarrassing.

I have been surprisingly busy on weekends recently.. Last Palmeiras match I actually watched was their 2-0 win over Atletico PR a couple of weeks ago.
Seems like the team is terribly inconsistent. They'll win 3-0 one day, lose 0-3 the next one. Not sure what the heck that is all about.
Their biggest luck is that even with all these erratic performances, they're still in the Sudamericana Cup and also just 4 points away from the top 4. Things are pretty tight in the middle of the standings table.
And who would imagine that, almost halfway through the championship, we would see Gremio, Atletico-MG and Goias in the relegation zone, with Sao Paulo just barely out of it? Geez.
Seems like the tradition of having at least one big club relegated every year will be kept in 2010.

Another game, another tie. This is getting old.
20 games into the league, 10 ties.
Word on the street is that Palmeiras is having some financial problems and some players are 2-3 months late in their salary payments. No wonder the team shows no commitment at all on the pitch.

Palmeiras is playing with fire.
Another game, another tie.
A quick look through wikipedia and I noticed that ever since the Brazilian league adopted the new format with 20 teams, the most a team has tied was 14 times in 38 games. We already have 11 in 21.
And as a promising perspective, 3 teams have had 14 ties in previous years. 2 were relegated.
That's what you get for only winning 33% of the points, indeed.

Santos is going downhill FAST. Marquinhos doesn't seem like the same player without Ganso by his side, and Zezinho is just weak. Let's hope we have some new signings for the Libertadores 2011.
