Exclamation Milan Back in Europe? ...

It seems that Milan will play in Europe this season afterall.

Empoli was taking one of the UEFA Cup spots, but couldn't make it due to some out of time paper work.

After the veredict, the table looked like this:
Livorno 49
Parma 45
Empoli 45
Milan 44 (88-44)
Ascoli 43

But Empoli not being able to take part, leaves the spot to the next team up, Milan. Sounds "fishy" the 44 points deduction now ... coincidence?

This will certainly save part of the financial crisis at Milan ... UEFA ain't CL, but at least brings some much needed revenue.

Would like to hear some more about it ... preferably from the Italian press.

Of course not...the point of the deduction was to take them out of Europe....I still doubt the Italian league let's them in.

I know ... why not 47 points? Could Berlusconi had known that Empoli would have the problems to make it?

I have nothing but admiration for Milan btw ... but nothing seems to be coincidence when it comes ot the strongest clubs.

If they don't want them in European competition all that they need to do is deduct them another few points during their appeal.

OOOPS, we didn't punish you enough.

the truth is that they made a trivial mistake. They thought that the amount of points was enough. They didn't think of Empoli's situation (they never submitted the paper work to participate in the UEFA competitions for the last 3 years. Only Empoli's people and the UEFA knew). So it is a coincidence in this case
I have a link to an article in Italian on this but you need to register, etc. Trust me on the source

It is a bit embarassing, but bah.. below Empoli, there is Ascoli & Udinese. Do we know if the Marches have a license (I would guess not...)? But we know that the Friuli have, as they were in the Champions League last season.

If they want to send Udinese or Ascoli (I think they have the license) they would need to take a couple of more points off Milan. But then the whole thing would really look even more ridicolous than it is now.

Berlusconi do this? Never. Of course he's behind it.

Why do you think Juve is in B? Cause if not he and the Milanista knew they would be second to Juve for a long time.
