Default Gary Neville or Steve Finnan?

Ok my Liverpool friend and I are getting into it a bit over this one. In my opinion, Gary Neville's been consistently one of hte best right backs in the premiership for the last 8 years. Steve Finnan is good but not great in my eyes. He can't cross or track back as well as Neville. anyway, what say you?

don't forget to vote!

I'll be mature about this.

I hate Neville. I love Finnan.

Finnan is a much better player all around than G.Neville.

Edit: I think just being able to be a topic for such a debate is a credit to how good Finnan has been for Liverpool in the past couple of seasons. Real unsung hero, but better than Neville would be a stretch/big call.

Not even a fair comparison. After beckham, no one has put in better crosses the last decade from that right side. sorry hands down neville. neither are all that fast, but gary probably positions better. He's also the captain. i don't know finnan's leadership qualities but he seems like he just follows carragher and gerrard. but the best thing about gary is this:

you knew it was coming.

I don't like Neville, however he's miles better than Finnan.

You did not just say that! Seriously he had arguably (certainly for a defender) one of the best crosses last season, im sure pool fans will tell you.

But I have to say Neville is still my choice out of those two.

I think he was referring to your original statement saying that Finnan can't cross, which he can.....and well.

As for the poll, both are quality right backs. Finnan was one of our most consistent players last season. Excellent positioning, always making himself available for the overlap (him and Pennant will make a great combination this season) and always getting stuck in. Not many left wingers get the better of him.

Having said that, Neville is better, but I'm certainly not attaching my name to a vote for that rat .

Hhhhmm, I could think of few little ditties concerning the Neville family, but won't ruin a thread with them......
