I know what you mean brotha. Batigol was a huge signing for us! That guy was a goal scoring machine. I loved Cafu and Nakata as well.
Having signed mediocre players these last couple of years and selling Aqulani has been depressing. I feel like we have a bright future ahead of us.
I'm really excited about getting some younger players (lowering the average age of our squad), getting some depth, SIGNING some defenders and goalkeeper. Hopefully new management will make smarter decisions than Rosella & co.
I don't see Lamela starting. I seem him coming off the bench and giving us a spark. He has a bright future ahead of him. Anyone agree or disagree about him starting or coming off the bench?

depends on who else we sign. i don't see bojan starting for us either. it'll probably be 50/50 on the right wing between bojan/lamela
but again, depends who else we sign

Bojan is definitely going to be starting, unless he's sucking. He got time at Barcelona, he just never got to start and he's not the super-sub type (a quality that Pedro has in abundance, which must have made it even more difficult for Bojan to accept).
He's talented as hell and he needs to get consistent time. Lamela is 18, so I doubt he starts. Bojan is a guarantee, even if he doesn't start from the day 1.

i dont think Rosella made poor buys beyond Adriano, i think she made buys within the budget. and that the Cicinho's, Doni's, Baptista's, Adriano's, etc were all terrible wage decisions.
ill be honest, im a bit perplexed with who will play! LE says Totti is integral so, but Sabatini also states that Borriello is staying, and we want to keep Mirko. but that Bojan is coming too...
LE also pushing for 4-3-3
as of now- i am purely guessing
?Keeper
Angel LB Juan CB Burdisso CB Cassetti RB
Pizarro RMF De Rossi CMF Lamela LMF
Bojan RWF Totti CFW Vucinic LWF
Rosi as an alt for RB, Borriello i think will still make the bench often, Perrotta as well, i think Menez will be sold, Simplicio, Taddei, Brighi, all bench players still.
also, it seems Lamela has gone with Aq's old number, 8.

Lamela isn't a CM. From what I know of him he's made to play in the front 3.
And you obviously need a CB and RB.

unless im incorrect he certainly isnt a FW. MF for sure, centrally inclined but effective on either side.
and yes Sabatini has addressed our need of a CB and RB has an again Cassetti, which is why I thought Rosi may start if we dont buy a RB.
Kjaer for CB....would love that. but agent says no offer.

A forward, not really, but something close to what Messi is and definitely not ideal in a 3man midfield. Tho maybe he develops to playing in front of the two, right behind the forwards.

LE specifically requesting, and LE adamant user of the 4-3-3. cant imagine he doesnt suit a 3 man mid.
excited for him nonetheless and i imagine with LE favoring young players he'll get a good chunk of time

heres my guess
GK steklenburg
RB: rosi/cassetti
RCB: niko
LCB: juan
LB: angel/crescenzi
RCM: pizarro
LCM: derossi
CAM: lamela/or new signing
RF: bojan/lamela
LF: mirko
CF: totti
-----GK------
---RCB LCB---
RB---------LB
--RCM LCM---
----CAM-----
-RF-------LF-
-----CF------
totti in his traditional false9 role, with bojan/mirko/lamela running into channels. pizarro/derossi deeper
still hard to call as i'm sure we'll be making more signings
our B team/bench will compose of lobont, rosi, crescenzi, simplicio, brighi, bertolacci, greco, borriello, d'alessandro, and of course some new signings. we need depth at CB badly. it pains me to say it but it makes financial sense to sell perrotta and taddei
