i heard there were 3 or so "incidents" during the salvador match, although i only saw the tachtsidis one on facebook. i heard salvadorians were throwing trash onto the pitch throughout the game and i heard that even some roma fans got beat up after the game on the train. kinda glad i didn't go and i kinda expected the match to be mostly attended by salvadorians anyway. but i probably would've went if it weren't my friend's birthday. i have yet to see totti in a match yet. the 2 times i went to the olimpico totti was injured =[
reports say rosi and okaka are going to parma
rumors with balzaretti to roma are also heating up but he may also opt for napoli instead

i think Rosi is good enough to start. but Balzaretti would put that to bed and send Rosi on loan surely. 5 mil for a 31 RB... depends on the wages and contract length i suppose.
ill be honest, I feel like Sabatini and co. are trying to build a squad with the best money theyve got to compete for the Scudetto. start to look- we have about 2 players in every position that are quality or promising young player.
Stek-Lobont
Angel-Dodo-Heinze
Burdisso-Castan (Heinze)
Tatchsidis-Castan (De Rossi)
Rosi-Balzaretti-Piris
De Rossi-Bradley
Pizarro-Perrotta
Marquinho-Taddei
Pjanic-Lamela
Totti-Osvaldo
Lamela-Bojan-Destro

I am not enthusiastic about Balzaretti, but I enjoy his wife's work! He's deserved the attention nonetheless, he played well during the Euro.
Anyway, he's not 31, he actually turned 30 one or two months ago — which changes little to the fact that he may soon be past his prime. I seem to have read 1.5M per year, for three years.

yea seems the contract will be for 3 years. and we dont have alot of cover at RB especially if we let Rosi on loan. it would be Heinze and Balzaretti really?
Federico is solid tho, and gets up that flank. i think he will fit in well, and typically plays many games with still a good engine.
still unresolved issues with Osvaldo, i see no point in selling him, Borriello needs to go- he is the complete opposite type of striker compared to all the others we have now, Pizarro is unresolved, and Brighi will go to Torino soon it seems.

Piris (right), Rosi (right), Balzaretti (left, right), Jose Angel (left), Dodo (left).
I suspect either, or both, Rosi and Jose Angel may leave. Marquinho and Taddei could, theoretically, play as fullbacks.

still some movement to make...but good notes, and Marcotti is great.
2nd trip around for training camp and unfortunately 2 mistakes for me.
Rosi- moving to Parma likely
Okaka- same
Pizarro- was left out fueling a rescinding of his contract like Juan, Simplicio.
Angel- had all last season to convince, moving to Benfica it seems
Borriello- surely should be looking for a club
and imo the mistakes are leaving Heinze and Perrotta out. its clear if you dont make this training camp, you arent going to play. but Heinze is still so experience, and can play all across the back..., and Simone has given too much for Roma and I think he still has a season in him.
Also, i dont see Destro on the bench much especially if we do something silly like sell Osvaldo, and Bojan's preseason form may fit him in a starting XI. Balzaretti will surely play at LB to start.
Also may sell Stek and fit in a new keeper.
my guess for opening day (still 24 or so days away, if everyone is healthy would be)
Stek
Balzaretti-Castan-Tachtsidis-Burdisso
Bradley-De Rossi-Pjanic
Osvaldo-Totti-Lamela
subs: Lobont, Destro, Bojan, Dodo, Marquinho, and Taddei
but that for one- leaves out Lopez, and two, its really hard to work out putting Destro and/or Bojan on the bench for Lamela and/or Osvaldo. its gonna have to be whose on form

very sad to see Rosi go. felt he was always underrated and not given a good string of games. considering our problems at RB i always thought he could be the answer after Cassetti.
bit unfair to him imo given his development at Roma. still always remember his goal at Bari off his stomach in the 90+

Borini is very good. Not a wing player at all, but a striker able to come in off the wing. Good technically, and very attack-minded with the ball at his feet. Bojan can fit in tho. If you're gonna play 4-3-3, then playing Totti in the false 9 role that started the false 9 craze, then Borini would have been very good to be the striker off the wing. And so is Bojan. Tho Osvaldo from the left is still not very good.

You deserve 100 reps for this. Most underrated CB I've seen in the aughts.

Hello all As Roma Fans !
I'm happy to join you in this beautiful thread.
I wanna talk about our transfer market this summer. Honestly I didn't expect this good work from Sabatini since there where rumors about a financial deficit in the budget , we're lucky to have such a great director in our team .
We still need :
1 - a CB , and according to the latest news he's one of the two Brazilian players (Rhodolfo and Uvini) and personally, I prefer the first one.
2 - a RB (Sabatini said that " it is unlikely that we bring a RB and this position is not an urgency as we have Balzaretti who can play in both sides ").
BUT We can't count on Piris who's gonna play for the first time in the Serie A and we still don't know his level. I hope to see another RB with Piris so we can start the season with a strong and complete team.
