I don't remember the episode, and that particular game either, but from what I read it looks like it was the first time that a linesman told the ref about something that happened in the penalty box that the ref hadn't seen. Now it is not unusual, but 10 years ago in Spain perhaps it was.

It was a push alright but the line ref asks to send off the wrong guy and that's how they ended up sending off the wrong guy.
