ullu lacks the experience to perform at this level
Default hypothetical relegation question

Ok, so this is fairly unlikely to occur any time soon but please bear with me.

Say Real Madrid get relegated next season and their B team get promoted, would it be possible for the entire squad from the relegated team to be 'transferred' to the B team and continue playing in the top flight?

I don't think the rule is the A and B teams can't be in the same league, I think its just that the B team isn't allowed to be promoted to top flight.

Players can be transfered from A and B though but not on a weekly basis like they can in Italy. Capello mentioned it earlier that its a shame that he couldn't send Ronaldo to Madrid B to get his fitness back then come back to Madrid when he gets into shape.

Question

it's an interesting question because real madrid b could win segunda every year but will never be promoted while madrid a is in the primera
does that mean madrid a cannot be relegated?
I'm sure madrid b would be relegated by default, but what if they'd won the segunda?

then the team below them would get the call up to the big show. A team with a b and c squad, can only do so if they're confident they will never suffer the embarassment of playing in the same leagues as their farm teams. A team as powerfull as Madrid, can always, as a last ditch effort, buy the sufficient points to keep out of the relegation zone. I'm not saying they do buy wins now...i'm just saying...they could if they had too.

There are rules regarding age, appearances, etc... with respect to the "B" and "C" teams in La Liga. They're not necessarily just youth and reserve squads. As a simple rule, though, if you're registered with the senior squad, then you can't play games with the "B" team.

Real Madrid Castilla can play in the Primera if Real Madrid are relegated, however. But it's hard to imagine a "B" team getting even a sniff of promotion from the Segunda in this day and age.

The real answer: The A team would get relelgated to Segunda and the B (Castilla) team would go down to Segunda B.

Real Madrid (A) will never get relegated. So, Real Madrid B will never see Primera division football, but one step behind.
