I'm guessing that the reason aragones dropped raul has nothing to do with football. It's more like "this is a new direction for spain, let's get the young and newer guard in." Sooner or later, he'll have to recall Raul just like McClaren have to recall Beckham. :P
Raul have been massive this season, really really proved everyone wrong. There was talk about him wasting a spot in the starting line up at the beginning of the season, how Real is going to have to play with 10 men each game. He really showed his critics. He has really been one of the best player this season so far.

3. Luis Garcia - Has been performing consistently for the whole of the last season. His great performances contributed to his side reaching the final of the UEFA Cup. He also scored two great goals last week against Betis. The service he receives at Español is not as good as what Raul gets at Madrid, yet he scores more often than Raul. Just beacuse he is not a big name as Raul does not mean his performances can be ignored. He deserves his chance in La Seleccion.

I normally LOVE to write off Raul but this time I have to defend him. Raul has scored 3 goals and produced 1 assist in the past 5 games, definately having the best form out of all the Spanish strikers that you have listed.

If he continues how he's playing, he'll be back in the NT squad in no time.

Delbosque seleccion!
My I like raul always him envied to the madrid for this player, but though this good now his your epoch in the selection already past it is necessary to leave the new people though sometimes they disillusion.
To the Spanish selection he is necessary to change trainer! Delbosque selection!
I'm sorry for my english!

Actually the Luis Garcia that is ex-Liverpool is Luis Javier García Sanz, and the Luis Garcia at RCD Espanyol is Luis García Fernández.
They're two different people.
(Incidentally there's also another Luis Garcia at Getafe)
I could still see Raul as part of the Spanish squad, but probably starting on the bench.

As at 11/11/2007:
