Default Lyon Player Denied Entry to Scotland

A bit of interesting news ahead of the match.

Quote:
Lyon player suffers airport drama

Keita would be expected to start against Rangers at Ibrox
Lyon suffered an early scare ahead of Wednesday's Champions League tie with Rangers when striker Kader Keita was initially denied entry to Scotland.

There were concerns that the 26-year-old from the Ivory Coast would have to return to France.

But he was eventually granted an emergency visa by immigration officials at Glasgow Airport.

But they denied him entry in the first place. And then had to grant him an emergency visa once they realised that they were on the verge of starting an international incident.

The player has a residence visa that allows him to work in France. Were they afraid he was going to claim asylum in Scotland or something? It was a ridiculous and totally stupid move ahead of such an important fixture.

this predicament has nothing to do with football, so how you can say 'ridiculous and totally stupid' is truely stupid and ridiculous, there are reasons why there is security at airports and people aren't allowed into certain countries, exceptions cannot be made just cos he's a professional footballer, don't be so naive, there's a far bigger picture than football reguarding immigration in any country, let alone the u.k

I don't think so. An international incident!? Bit of an exaggeration there! This happens all the time, everyday in airports. Go have a check and see how many new players fail to travel on clubs pre-season friendlies to countries all over the world and you'll see what I mean

If said traveller has an invalid Visa, whether he's a celebrity or not, no entry! At least until its cleared up, which it was in the end(by granting a temp Visa, so his original Visa is still invalid all the same. Its his own fault).
